Hair Regimen

I have a very simple hair care routine that I follow, although I am not always as consistent as I would like to be, it does seem to work for me so far and it is always open to change as I read and learn more about haircare and my own hair every day..

My hair care Routine:

Wash hair each week or at the end of the second week if in twist
Deep condition at the end of every two week period
Apply a creamy hair dress and seal with an oil when using simple braided styles or even when under a wig
During the week I spritzs hair with a watery leave in every 3rd day, apply a creamy leave-in an hour later and seal with a light oil
If I'm twisting my hair and I happen to use shea butter or even a beeswax product that has a petroleum based ingredients
I apply a creamy leave in and use the shea butter or bees wax to seal the hair from moisture escaping

Once a month I use a clarifying shampoo to remove the build up from my hair

My Staple Hair Products

  • Wash and Detangle: Tresemme Vitamin E Moisture Rich shampoo and conditioner for dry and damaged hair
  • To blow dry(when flat ironing): Tresemme thermal spray/VO5 heat defense which ever one is available.
  • To detangle my dry hair to transition into another style I have a small water bottle which I fill with 3/4 water and 1/4 VO5 hair conditioner and a teaspoonful of oil mixed to spritz into my hair
  • Favored products for deep conditioning was the Lustrasilk Conditioner/Olive oil/VO5moisture mix but the Lustrasilk has been out of stock for months *this was one of the few d.c. that did not contain petroleum and mineral oil-which imparts shine but leaves my hair feeling "coated" after rinsing* so I'm on the hunt for something similar but budget friendly.
  • Favored hair oils are: Extra Virgin olive oil, Castor oil, Mega Care-vitamin E oil and the One'n Only argan oil which has been working well for me when I choose to flat iron my hair.
  • Leave-in conditioner: All Ways Natural instant oil moisturizer(creamy),Infflux33 leave-in (watery)
  • Creamy Hair dress: Sofn'free n'pretty Olive & Sunflower Oil hair and scalp nourisher and Milk Protein and Olive Oil Strengtening Creme *I know its geared for kids* but I love the ingredients and it works well in my hair.
  • To Clarify: I just use the VO5 Herbal Escapes Kiwi lime squeeze it can be drying but it all has to do with your technique.

Flat Ironing
this is something I started recently and its not something I do regularly as the weather is usually hot and humid and I've been trying out heat protectant v.s refining  newly learned techniques to see which keeps my hair straight the longest
