JORDANA twist & shine moisturizing balm stain

Hi Lovelies,

Its been awhile since I've been trying to get my hands on these lip balm, they've been available locally close to two or three months, mainly at a couple of our local facebook sellers, but finally this past week I was able to try these few. So I got them at Wonderful World at TTD $30. and they are available in eight (8) shades, but these were the shades available at the time: 01 nude chic, 05 honey love, 06 cranberry crush, rock n rouge
As you can see from the above photo they are wrapped with tamper proof plastic, with the colour and name printed both on the wrapper and actual packaging. Each balm has a candy sweet smell, but is not flavoured.

My Thoughts
Individually, 07
07 rock n rouge was a warm red, very pigmented from the first swipe/ application it also had some very fine glitter which was noticeable when it came time for removal.
06 cranberry crush a nice colour which showed up on my lips, just wish the "tone" was deeper.
05 honey love was a pink-like nude.
01 nude chic had a slightly shimmery silver look on my lips and you definitely noticed the fine glitter when it came time for removal.
Generally for me, the brighter/deeper the lip balm colour, the stronger the pigmentation and the longer it lasted on my lips, the moisturising effect was okay, it did not leave my lips feeling dry and cracked but when compared to their own Sweet n' Smooth lip balm, I felt the difference. The Sweet n' Smooth lip balm, sank into my lips leaving it feeling soft and "hydrated".

top to bottom: rock n  rouge, cranberry
crush, honey love, nude chic.

Overall it was a much more affordable lip stain than the Revlon Just Bitten, which has shot up in price locally, depending on where it is purchased, it has more colours than the BeautyTreats version and seems to look pretty vibrant on my lips. Hope this helps for women with darker pigmented lips.

BB Cream : SANTEE Aqua Stylish Silky Milk Foundation

Hi Lovelies

I bought this BB Cream at Pennywise about a month ago, while they were putting out their newer stocks one morning. So when I saw this at the counter for TTD $14.95 I thought why not? They had about three versions of the Santee BB Creams, but the one I bought was just recently stocked. The darkest tone unfortunately was number 12,  the sales clerk tried searching for a  darker colour in the other versions to work with my skin tone, but was not successful eventually gave up and told me that they hardly ever see the darker shades..I was still glad to try it out after all it came with sunscreen, and was reasonably priced.

On The Packaging:

"BB Cream combines various benefits all in one. Color control, isolation, whitening, moisturizing, sun protection and skin texture repair. Special multivitamin added to bring out the inner bright & shine of your skin. Experience the natural fresh makeup."

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Sea Salt, Triethonolamine, Ozokerite, Beeswax, Mineral Oil, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Calcium Stearate, Aluminum Stearate, Sorbitan isostearate, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Cyclomethicone, Hexyl Laurate, Cyclopentasiloxane (and) Dimethicone, Kaolin, Silica Imidazolidinyl Urea, Fragrance, Titatium Dioxide, Mica, Iron Oxides.

This BB Cream comes in twelve (12) shades and is thick and creamy, it seems more like a light to medium foundation in texture, than what I expected of a BB Cream but the name includes foundation so it makes up for that. in the picture below you can see it gives my face a light glow or dewy look, and it seems to blend away light imperfections without looking heavy or "cakey" on my skin.
I used this for work, and it lasted for a few hours, but I'm the kind of person that needs too blot during the course of the day and I did get some fading along my oily areas of my face. Overall for me, the price was very good and I've been using it for a few weeks off and on, and have not experienced any major breakouts besides the ones that take place during that "special" time of the month.
What I personally don't like about this cream is one or two ingredients, its not as "organically"  friendly as the Beauty Treats BB Cream, but if that's not a hindrance to you...Hey you can give it a try!

Just a small look at a few L.A. COLORS - Cover Up! Pro Concealer Sticks

Hi Lovelies,

Just wanted to share a first look at the colour correctors I bought from the L.A. COLORS Cover Up! Pro Concealer line they seem pretty creamy and pigmented for the price TTD15. also seemed to blend well and I do look forward to experimenting on myself and friends to get that flawless look.

Colour Correctors are usually used to to cover up dark circles, reduce redness, blemishes, and other minor skin discolourations on the face or body.
The colours can be used:
GREEN is used to minimize redness on inflamed skin
CORAL/ORANGE in darker skin tones is used to minimize the grey sometime ashy colours under the eyes and nose area
YELLOW is used in lighter skin tones to minimize bluish to dark purple like bruising or even dark circles under the eye.
These colours are usually applied before your foundation.

Just wanted to share a video or two, of one of my favorite Youtube makeup artiste, Destiny Godley she also has her own blog.
Why am I highlighting her in my blog post today? Well I recently purchased some LA COLORS Cover Up Concealer sticks mainly the color correctors.  I'm by no stretch of the imagination a makeup artist, but like most women I do enjoy playing around with makeup. I'm still learning and I do view other makeup artist, but the two I learned the most from are Destiny Godley and Gossmakeupartist they are very open to sharing their tips and techniques in an easy and visual way.
Anyway in a couple of her videos she speaks of colour correctors and demonstrate how its done using several different name brands. I have personally never been too interested in doing a hard core search for any corrector, but when I saw these readily available correctors(for me!) at Wonderful World I thought that there is no reason to pass them up.
So down below are two videos from Destiny, please check out her channel LINK

This post is not a review just me sharing a little that I learned while featuring someone who has a great bit more knowledge on the use of colour correctors than myself.

Show and Tell: Jordanna Sweet n' Smooth lip balm and Jordanna Colour Tint Blush Sticks

Hi Lovelies
In a lazy search for the Jordanna twist and shine I decided to visit Wonderful World unfortunately their display case had no such thing , which was backed up with the sales clerk negative response...Anyway while there I choose to not leave empty handed and decided to try their colour tinted lip balm (yes it came out a awhile ago, but really.. better late than never!!)
So here is a look at a few of their colours in the tint blush stick that were available at the time: in Apple Cheeks, Rose Petal and Bronze Glow..

Left: to Right : 03 Apple Cheeks, 05 Rose Petal, 06 Bronze Glow

The colours are really nice for this time of the year and gives a light wash of colour, especially for those not into heavy makeup, the Apple Cheeks showed up well as a blush on my skin tone, Bronze Glow would work better as a highlighter while Rose  Petal  would work really nice with a similar matte colour powder blush placed on need for that extra shiny look on a hot day!!

The Sweet n' Smooth Nourishing  lip balm showed up well on my skin but less so on my lips due to my darker pigmentation, it felt moisturising on the lip and as with most lip balm you'll need to reapply during the course of the day, the scent are true to the flavours they represent and the price is within our local pricing for affordable lip balm which could run between TTD $5 to $18 depending on brand if it goes above that for me it needs to have something extra special draw at my purse strings!!

Anyway hope everyone is enjoying a pleasant work week
Have an Uplifting Day

A sad farewell to Domineque Banks.... :c(

Hello Lovelies

This morning I awoke and was greeted with this sad news on my Facebook page and was pretty much stunned, she passed away on April 9th 2014 due to medical complications caused by Lupus. I have been a follower of her YouTube channel since around 2009, because it was something of a joy to discover someone with a hair type similar to my own who had been successful in caring for her hair with gentle manipulation that its response was to show that kinky textured hair could achieve such great lengths.
Though I did not know her personally, to me she was one of those youtube natural hair pioneers such as RusticBeauty, Kimmaytube, Sera2544 to name a few.. In her videos she came across as a very beautiful, simple, straightforward, humble but private person.

I have always enjoyed her videos, and her simple easygoing approach gave me added motivation in caring for my own hair. In one of her earlier video (below) she mentioned being ill in her description box

A Naked 3 replica

Hi Lovelies,
Its been awhile since i have put up a post, but with close friends and family members taking their departure from this life, I felt that taking a break to indulge in a little me time was very necessary...

Thought I'd stop in today and share a little affordable "find" that I purchased from eBay recently.I suppose its no surprise to anyone, that on eBay you can find just about anything and everything (both real and fake) especially with makeup items the options are endless. So I came across this while searching for affordable brushes. For those who follow up on higher end makeup, Urban Decay had taken the lead by introducing their own version of a complete neutral  travel size pallet named the Naked pallet, which was a very popular and fast seller, which eventually brought about Naked 2 ,Naked Basics and of recent Naked 3.Due to their popularity the naked line of neutral palettes seems to have spawned the inspiration for other companies...

On the box they mentioned some sample primer potion, but seeing as it was not the real deal's not a problem!!

Anyway this replica item arrived in less than a month, (ordered it on the 6 Feb arrived at my box collected this on the 28 Feb) came in a little box and was securely wrapped with a small bubble wrap strip and within was secured with larger bubble wrap. I paid USD 13.99 and got free shipping.
I personally have no issues with purchasing or trying out a replica/fake as it allows me to experiment with these lovely rose-gold toned  colours without creating a major hole in my pocket as the real deal would! Mwah ;)
So below is a look at the colours...

The mirror had a plastic seal to prevent scratches, which I've since removed..

Could not quite capture the tones..but here it goes - Top: outdoor in sunlight Bottom: indoors

The colours and how they showed up on my skin:-

Strange matte a bit powdery when applied but translucent on my skin when blended; Dust the name is very apt, nice metallic shade but plenty fallout need to dampen your brush to really make the beauty of this colour show. Burnout has a beautiful peachy/gold metallic shimmer, showed up nicely; Limit matte and translucent ;Buzz deep rosy pink; Trick coppery shimmer; Nooner a matte taupe-like colour with a hint of pink; Liar light pinky/mauve shimmer; Factory brownish-pink satin colour; Mugshot satiny pinkish taupe; Darkside has a deep plum colour in palette but seemed plumy/taupe on my hand; and Blackheart like the reddish/black grapes with a satin shimmer.

Sorry about the shine but its the best i could do at the time

Note the colour all had that rosy tinge in the pan, but some were more pronounced than others when applied on my skin tone. I can't compare pigmentation to the real deal but for me you can not go wrong with a little primer<333

To try this dupe/fake/replica/like pallet you can check on eBay under the heading
