Hi Lovelies
Its a rainy Friday, but I spent part of it "liming" with good friends and was introduced to this local skit of comic relief and just thought I would share..

Nicka K Lip Color

Above: Panama City; Below : Siesta key

Hi Lovelies,
This is just a closer look at the lip gloss I purchased recently, I've used Nicka K lip gloss before, but would usually purchase them from a co-worker who sells a few cosmetic items at the side, unfortunately we no longer work at the same department or area so its been harder to get in touch and I'm generally not to fussy...
Anyway, when I came across these while at the hair shop I was pretty excited about the the unusual packaging, and knowing that the pigmentation on the Nicka K glosses are very good I just thought I would try these two.

Below is a look at a Super Lip Shimmer in # 12 that I had previously..

The above was obviously a squeeze tube, but the ones below have a doe foot applicator

Left: Panama city ; Right : Siesta key

I like the fact that it does not feel greasy on my lips and I figure its good as a lightweight wear for casual days at the beach or everyday wear. Its a nice lip gloss, and for some supposedly moisturising, I still recommend using a natural lip butter (I used some mango butter ) with a sun screen because this has no SPF and the first two products on its ingredient list do contain Petrolatum, Paraffinum Liquidum, then Lanolin...
The Siesta key has fine glitter and you do feel it on your lips, but the Panama city has a smoother feel on your lips. I did go back to re-purchase more but most of the bright colours were already sold out.
As far as pigmentation and packaging goes I like this product, as for ingredients its not really "green" friendly.
So if you've ever come across these glosses, this is just a closer look at them..

Happy mid week!

Small Haul ;c)

Hi Lovelies
been somewhat slow with my post, but I've also been feeling a little under the weather, so last Thursday while in Port of Spain, I just happened across this this new beauty supplies store, (meaning it is new to me. lol.) and kind of stepped in quickly while on my way to meet a friend..who had to call me after awhile when I did not show up at the appointed meeting place on time..
(the store is on lower Henry Street obliquely opposite the "drag mall")
It similar to a lot of the other beauty supplies in that they have varying types of wigs..

But it was pretty cool finding some of these make stuff also, the NYX you'd find at Wonderful World,  but the Nicka K was something I usually bought from a friend at work, and annabay1989 mentioned Sassilicious in a recent vid, but I'm certainly enjoying the factor that a few of these harder to find drugstore brand are becoming more easily available locally..
I'm especially enjoying Bellezza Bee higher end finds at Starlite Pharmacy

Have an enjoyable weekend everyone !!

Beauty Treats BB Cream

Hi Lovelies
I saw this Beauty Treats Blemish Balm at the makeup counter while in Pennywise stocking up on a few essential items, what really caught my eyes was the price tag of TTD$24.95 The beauty balm craze have been around in the eastern countries for awhile and has only filtered down to our little isle when US companies started marketing their own version of the product around early spring last year, perhaps before.. but now you are actually able to get it in a few more shades.
I enjoy You tube, and as for those beauty gurus experiencing spring, they are including it as a staple product for their spring to summer months because of its lightweight capabilities along with bronzers of course..

There Beauty Treats version comes only available in four shades:

So I was a little uneasy about making a purchase, both because of the colour selection as well as to me it was always geared for those with dry skin. But I've got a few powders that are a shade darker, so maybe one of them would work to top it off, and then I read its product description..

Darkest shade is Butterscotch

"BB cream, also known as Blemish Balm, is an all-in-one cream that offers the benefits of makeup and skincare in one easy step. With one application, this multi-benefit product primes, tints, nourishes, smoothes and protects the skin. It hydrates to maintain healthy moisture for a fresh look, while preventing oils and diminishing the appearance of pores, fine lines, and uneven skin tones.
 All-in-one moisturizer, primer, and foundation

Creates a smooth finish and evens out skin tone

Suitable for all types of skin and skin tones"

This was my result:

So overall my thoughts on this Beauty Treats BB Cream
  • It felt light weight on my skin
  • It gives very light coverage but can be built up a bit.
  • Has a creamy texture
  • There was a slight white cast (remember its a shade or two lighter than my skin tone) but when topped with my L'oreal True Match powder it blended well.
  • My pores looked a little less noticeable than when I used the moisturiser only.
  • While at work (which is a non air conditioned environment) my look lasted well for at least three hours.
  • It did not leave my skin feeling greasy.
  • It did not irritate my skin.

Note: this did not contain any SPF as you can check in the ingredients list above, it also seemed to work as a tinted primer, there are other BB cream with much more helpful feature in there ingredient listing that you can try,but it works okay for what it says it does its one major downfall for me is its colour range is still limited for darker women, but its price point and ingredients which seemed a bit more "green"/ people friendly suited my pockets  very well.

For General Knowledge
Besides functioning as a lightweight  foundation, Blemish Balm Cream really gained in popularity due to some very helpful ingredients they would contain, such as
